Something Still Screams...
"I
became a painter for that inner need to paint, in spite of myself, against all practical
sense. I take it as my raison d'etre or Sadhana, as they say in Hindu philosophy. I
confess to not being a people person, yet strangely enough, all that appears consistently
in my work, is people - probably from having lived in Mumbai and encountered three and a
half people per square foot, at all times! The portrait series changed over a period of
time, from depicting the silent endurance of the urban man to images that were inward
looking, where the answers really are. I don't know whether to call it growth or just
change, but it's certainly a bit of both." |

"Soon lightness appeared as a consequence of much load
shedding, thanks to Yoga, Meditation and Reiki. It was almost as if I was lifted out of
darkness, towards light. Images now began to swim and float, creating themselves with
greater ease."
