The three artists featured come from very different backgrounds, cultures and life experiences.  Yet each melds his or her identity into the art, whether expressing internal feelings or projecting an image onto society.

Michael McConnell is a young artist from the Midwest, who recently decided to relocate to the Bay Area and pursue his art career.  He uses found objects culled from suburban Americana as well as fables to narrate personal experiences of growing up.

Eric Leroux, a Frenchman, has spent years living abroad in Africa and Southeast Asia.  His works are flush with African and Asian motifs, as he embraces these cultures yet struggles to identify himself in these foreign lands.

Wura-Natasha Ogunji is an African-American woman who uses physical materials and manipulated self-portrait photographs to conjure images of people and events that have no recorded histories.
