Born in 1963, Causa is
an artist whose post modernist esthetic emerged in the 1980s- somewhere between
Argentinas return to democracy and the Falkland Islands war. Her wooden towers were influenced by a rising
shift to conceptualism as well as an international emphasis on figuration. At once monumental and approachable, she
constructs her towers with a bit of irony. The
use of basic materials and geometry lend a simple elegance to the forms. They give new meaning to abstraction of the human
figure and serve as a bridge to conceptualism.
Causa has recently exhibited in Buenos Aires, Mexico City and the Bay Area. Her works are in the Buenos Aires collections of
the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Pollock Krasner Foundation, and Fondo Nacional de las
Artes.
