About Us

International Art

Amit May has been involved with the fine arts of numerous countries and cultures for over 10 years.  In 1999 he established Amit May Fine Arts, specializing in Diversity Awareness Art Exhibition™ services to corporations.  Most recently this included hosting an exhibition at Genentech highlighting Latin American Art, as well as an innovative show of Abstract Art at Sun Microsystems.

In 1997 Amit was chosen as a guest curator (hosted by the Cambodian Artist Assistance Program) to document and engage emerging artists in Cambodia.  The results led to a unique art exhibition of Contemporary Cambodian Art, never before seen outside of Cambodia.  Amit has traveled extensively throughout the world, meeting with many international artists from Myanmar (Burma), Cuba, Chile, Mexico, Vietnam, Nepal, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Macao, Singapore, Israel, Jordan, Turkey, Guatemala, Costa Rica and Belize.  He is also active in promoting local and national artists of various backgrounds including Hispanic, African-American, Native-American and Asian Pacific-Americans.

Corporate Management Experience

Amit has held senior marketing management positions with progressive high tech firms such as Sun Microsystems, Applied Materials and Hewlett Packard.  He has had extensive people management experience, including supervising employees of diverse backgrounds.  Amit also lived and worked overseas in Israel for 3 years.

Education

Amit received his Bachelors of Arts in Social Science and Business Management from the University of California at Berkeley, 1987.

He also obtained a graduate degree from the WUJS Institute, International Graduate Centre for Near Eastern Studies, Arad, Israel, 1998.  At the field school (located in the Judean desert) he studied the nomadic culture of Arab Bedouin tribes and the history of the ancient Israelite kingdoms, among other subjects.
